SNOW DAY!!!!

Announcements Tuesday 01/13/2025:

Good morning staff and students!  Welcome to Ovid-Elsie Middle School where we are inspiring life-long learners to achieve their full potential and excel in a changing world.  Today is Tuesday, January 14th, 2025.  Please stand for the pledge…..

Happy Birthday yesterday to Zeke W and today to Alexis K. Hope that you have a great birthday!

We’ve had another round of tardy detentions being reported today so it seems like a good time to remind you that you need to be in class, on time, ready to work and with everything that you need to begin working.  Your presence at a reward event might depend on it!

LUNCH:

Sliced turkey, a roll, mashed potatoes & gravy, a strawberry cup and milk.

And now it’s time for Trivia Tuesday so pop your thinking caps on and teachers dial 1420 when you have heard the entire question and your class has an answer:

Question: What color is a giraffe’s tongue?

Answer: Blue, black or purple.

Class: Willbanks

Note: The dark color of a giraffe's tongue is thought to protect it from sunburn while giraffes eat leaves from high up in trees..

A giraffe's tongue can be 18–20 inches long and it is prehensile, meaning it's strong and muscular, allowing the giraffe to grasp and manipulate objects.

Have a terrific Tuesday everybody!

Chicken drumsticks, banana bread, broccoli, blueberries and milk.

It’s Hump Day and we now have the inspirational quote of the week to get you over the hump from French philosopher Albert Camus:

Quote:

Take it how you want it but to me that means that no matter how hard things are, I can always look inside myself to find strength and joy.

Have a wonderful Wednesday everybody!  We’re halfway there so let’s make the rest of this week really count!

Happy Birthday today to Eduardo R. and Adam C.. Have a wonderful birthday guys!

A reminder that students may not go to the IC, or office, without a pass from their teacher

During some lunches we are seeing students gather in the lobby, taking food and drink from the cafeteria and making enough noise that classes which are still in session are being disturbed.  At lunchtime students must remain in the cafeteria, unless they have a pass.  Items can be returned to lockers at the END of lunch.

Congratulations to Thomas W., he appeared on the front cover of the Meridian Weekly on Sunday and the Argus Press  Thomas joined the Middle School Laingsburg Robotics team in 6th grade due to OE not having a robotics team.  This year his team came in 1st place in our region and went to states in Muskegon where they ended up 19th overall.  If this sounds of interest to you, Laingsburg Robotics (The Lightning Thieves) are accepting students from neighboring communities at this time.

A reminder to submit your artwork for the OEMS Mural Competition by January 31st and don’t forget that the first collection date for sponsorship is January 21st, that is next Tuesday.

LUNCH:

Pepperoni pizza, pineapple, red pepper slices and milk.

We will have concessions tomorrow at the end of the day so bring your monies for the sugar sling!

Have a tremendous Thursday everybody!  Let’s make today RIDICULOUSLY amazing!
